..MTV : She is really disciplined, if she knows she has to sing the next day, she is not going out and scream

..Heather : I don t drink or smoke anyway !
..MTV : Oh !
..Heather : But i do like to dance and i can relate it to the screaming and shouting .
..MTV : Talking about your album .
...............You just said you wanted to write more songs by your own .
...............Is that different to work for your own album concerning you as a female songwriter ?
..Heather : Yes, it is different because when you are in a band its a group voice.
...................So everything you do has to reflect the groups feelings. And when you are on your own, especially
...................being a female its all about you and how you feel. And that is sometimes different to the group
...................voice.
...................I mean the basic ideas are still the same but i think the expression is a bit more varied.
..MTV : So is it more female, is there a female angle or do you talk about general things ?
..Heather : I think its general. But lots of women who hear it say they can really relate. That makes me
...................happy..........obviously.........i m a woman.
...................But more than anything its about self.....and how you feel about yourself and how you want to
...................progress, how you see yourself and how you relate to the world.
...................I think sometimes females do it in a different way, looking at things...........yes, for sure !
..MTV : Did Paul and Mike agree when you said - "Hey, i want to do my own thing " ?
..Heather : Agree ??????..............Hello !!!!!!!!!..............Excuse me !!!!!!!!!! (Hev cant stop laughing)
..MTV : OOppss........sorry ! What did they say ?
..Heather : Of course they agreed ! I think everyone had come to that sort of decision.
...................We done the "Best of" album and we agreed to have a break. But.... like i said before.....
...................i love to sing, so the time of not singing didnt make me happy and i felt like, what can i do, that
...................would keep me singing but still be apart of the band. And so i just said i do some stuff on my own.
...................I think they maybe were a little surprised.............but.......they didnt not agree !! (laughing again)
..MTV : So M People is still alive ?
..Heather : Yes, we are !
...................I mean they are doing their own thing at the moment. Yeah we are still together ! We have been
...................together for so long and like you said we have had such success, we would be mad not to be still
...................together.

..MTV : Just a few minutes ago we saw you with Tom Jones and how was that to be with "The Tiger" ?
..Heather : Ha ha........ you are always giving people nicknames......"The Tiger"........"The voice"

..Heather : Its OK ! "The Tiger" it was great fun with "The Tiger"
..MTV : Did he bite ?
..Heather : No ......he is lovely.......real fun, real fun !
...................He got such a fantastic voice, very big, very rich, so its a joy to sing with him.
..MTV : So you could keep up with him, cause his voice is so strong ?
..Heather : I wouldnt say that i could keep up with him. Cause i got into the studio, we were in the studio
..........for 2 hours recording the song and when i came out i felt like i m never gonna be able to sing

...................again, because he is so loud !! But there are not many voices like that....so it was a pleasure.
..MTV : Do you know why he is around for such a long time and being also so successful ?
..Heather : I think he wants it, for one.....obviously he is talented, he has a great voice. And when you have
...................a voice that is so unique and you are still able to do it ...........why not ?! I think he wanted that
...................success, he wanted to show people that he was still valid. And thats the way it goes !!
...................If you make music, why would you stop when you like 60 -70 ? If its in you, its in you !!
...................Ella Fitzgerald sung for years ! So hopefully that is what i will be doing.
..MTV : Being "young at heart"
..Heather : Yes
...................Now some phonecalls and questions from fans
..MTV : Josephine wants to know if it was an honour to sing for the olympic games ?
..Heather : Oh yes, definatly. You know, people want me, my song to represent them. Especially, they have
...................been training for 4 years. 4 years to get to that point and than they say, well this is a song that
...................we feel represent that moment. It is an honour !
..MTV : Catherine wants to know when exactly did you start with music ? Was there a point when it was
...............profesionally done ?
..Heather : I answered an add when i was 18. I was still at school. It was an add in a music paper called
..................."Melody maker" for a singer. So i went along and they said they liked my voice. So i started
...................with that band. And we got signed to a record label when i was 21.........so profesionally at 21.
...................But i have been singing since i was about 18. Which is quite late...really ! Because most of the
...................american singers have been singing since they have been like 8 years old in church.
..MTV : And what about your self - estime to go to an audition at the age of 18 ?
..Heather : Well, its not my charakter. But i do love to sing and it is a part of the show....a must be.
...................To get on stage in front of 1000ans of people and say "Look at me, i have something to give "
...................But what it is ...... the singing, the joy that i get from singing overcame the nervous and the shyness.
...................Its something i had to do !
..MTV : Thank God.
..Heather : Yes.........for me !
..MTV : Last question ! What about christmas and new years eve ?
..Heather : Christmas i m gonna have a quiet time, because i have a son and we gonna have a nice family time.
..MTV : How old is he ?
..Heather : He is 3 and a half. But new years eve i think i might be in New York.
...................So i will be trying some of that screaming and shouting what you talking about earlier !
